Martha Liebert Public Library is proud to partner with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to provide free books to children in Bernalillo from birth to age 5. Once enrolled, your child will receive a carefully selected, age-appropriate book in the mail every month at no cost to your family.
This program is designed to inspire a love of reading and help children enter kindergarten ready to learn. Every book is chosen by experts in early childhood literacy and mailed directly to your home with your child’s name on it.
Available to ALL children ages 0-5 in Bernalillo, regardless of income.
How It Works
Three simple steps to start building your child’s library
1. Sign Up
Register your child online or visit the library to complete a registration form. Enrollment is free and takes just a few minutes!
2. Receive Books
Your child will receive one high-quality, age-appropriate book per month, delivered directly to your mailbox with their name on it.
3. Read Together
Build early literacy skills and create special bonding moments through daily reading. Watch your child’s love for books grow!

Once enrolled, your child will receive books monthly until they turn 5 years old or you choose to opt out. Books automatically stop when your child reaches age 5.
