Borrowing Limits
Books: Up to 50 items
DVDs: 10 at a time
Digital: Unlimited downloads
Loan periods: 3 weeks for books, 1 week for DVDs

Card Types
We offer different cards to meet your needs
Adult Card
For residents 18 and older. Full borrowing privileges and access to all library services.
Youth Card
For ages 0-17. Parent or guardian must be present to sign up and is responsible for materials.
Non-Resident
Live outside Bernalillo? Purchase an annual card for $50 with full access to all services.
Access your library card anytime, anywhere with our mobile app. Your digital card works just like your physical card for borrowing and accessing online resources.
Download the app: Available for iOS and Android. Search “Martha Liebert Library” in your app store.
Lost your card? Report it immediately by calling (505) 867-1440 or visiting the library. We’ll deactivate your old card and issue a replacement.
Replacement fee: $2.00 for a new physical card. Digital cards are always free.
Do I need to be a Bernalillo resident?
Bernalillo residents get free cards. Non-residents can purchase an annual card for $50.
How long is my card valid?
Cards expire after 3 years and can be renewed at no charge with updated ID and proof of address.
Can I use my card at other libraries?
Yes! New Mexico libraries participate in reciprocal borrowing agreements.
Getting your library card is easy! Visit us during our regular hours with:
- Photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, passport)
- Proof of address (utility bill, lease, recent mail)
